Sarah Horton is an accomplished scientist and manager with an impressive 30-year career in environmental approvals, compliance monitoring, and investigations. She has developed a high level of project management skills and has led multi-disciplined teams both within the Queensland Government and at Redleaf Environmental, where she is the Regional Manager for the Toowoomba Region.

During her time in state government roles, Sarah gained extensive experience in environmental regulation and led a team in Toowoomba responsible for the implementation, administration, and enforcement of legislative provisions of the Environmental Protection Act 1994 in south west Queensland. She has also led a team that undertook investigation and prosecution for enforcement of the EP Act 1994 against alleged offenders. Sarah's experience in managing and coordinating large projects has been honed through her work within government where she led the Toowoomba Compliance Centre Team. In this role, Sarah provided targeted, consistent, and transparent regulation to support sustainable development in the region. She proactively managed and monitored environmental risks of industry through the departments compliance framework. This involved managing unplanned compliance events such as incidents involving the release of contaminants to land or water, sediment erosion and release of sediment to waters, and complaints regarding dust emissions and noise complaints from these activities.

Sarah's effective leadership has enabled her to actively engage and collaborate within all levels of the business to deliver high-quality services. Her expertise includes conducting ecological surveys, environmental impact surveys, and cultural heritage assessments for developments and construction projects, including subdivisions, roads, rail, and bridges. Sarah effectively liaises with clients and regulators to ensure risks are identified early on, and effective mitigation strategies are identified and implemented to ensure adherence to organisational policies and procedures to deliver consistent quality regional operations and advance the business objectives, values, and reputation of the business. Overall, Sarah's vast experience and expertise make her a valuable asset to any team.
